Dear Friend & Supporter,
We invite you to be part of something truly special—our first-ever "Here Comes The Sun" Music & Art Festival Fundraiser on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 1 PM, held at American Legion Post 180, 2703 Jewett Ave., Highland, Indiana.
This event marks the 10-year angelversary of our founder Terry Almanza’s beloved daughter, Sydney, who was only 18 when her life was stolen by illicit drugs. In her memory & the memory of countless victims, we are bringing together music, art, and advocacy to raise funds for Drug Induced Homicide, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to seeking justice for families affected by drug poisonings.
Our mission is deeply personal—every committee member organizing this event has also suffered the devastating loss of a child to illicit drugs. We understand the pain, the fight for justice, and the urgent need for change.
To make this festival a success, we rely on the generosity of supporters like you. We are seeking:
Drug Induced Homicide, Inc. is committed to:
Guiding families through the judicial process with advocacy and legal resources
Raising awareness on the dangers of illicit drugs
Partnering with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute drug poisonings as homicides
Pushing for justice and accountability to hold those responsible fully accountable under the law
With your support, we have helped drive new policies, prosecutions, and legal reforms, ensuring drug-related deaths are treated as homicides, not accidental deaths. The unlawful delivery of an illicit drug resulting in a death is criminal.
For donation pickups or event inquiries, please contact Rachel Carlisle at (219) 290-3787 or 708-705-5001.
Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can bring justice, awareness, and change while honoring all the lives lost to this epidemic. We look forward to seeing you at the "Here Comes The Sun" Music & Art Festival Fundraiser!
Sincerely,
Rachel Carlisle

Drug Induced Homicide Inc. invites you to participate in our 9th Annual Nationwide Empty Chair Campaign, a poignant tribute to those lost to illicit drugs. This year, we ask you to place an empty chair on your front lawn, porch, or balcony, symbolizing a life cut short and the urgent need to hold drug dealers accountable. The chair can be left empty or adorned with meaningful items that reflect the life lost—a guitar, a volleyball, artwork, an urn, or anything that serves as a heartfelt reminder.
Many participants extend their displays to local schools, parks, police and fire departments, libraries, shopping malls, and busy intersections. Each chair represents a loved one taken too soon by illicit drugs, raising awareness throughout the community.
The campaign begins on September 25, 2025, the National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims™.
Our mission is to raise awareness about the leading cause of death among Americans aged 18-45 and to ensure that every unlawful delivery of a controlled substance resulting in death is investigated and prosecuted as homicide. We advocate for a shift in the judicial approach, moving from outdated protocols that classify these deaths as accidents to recognizing and addressing them as deliberate acts of harm. Join us in this vital campaign, honoring those we have lost and supporting change in their memory.
On September 25, The National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims advocates and community members commemorate murder victims and surviving family members. The day also honors the work of organizations that provide services, including support, advocacy, and counseling for families, individuals and communities coping with homicide-related deaths.
Red Ribbon Week inspires our kids to be drug free. Red Ribbon Week takes place each year from October 23 through 31st. Join us in our MISSION to help keep kids drug-free.
